Proceeds Benefit the MaDee Project
The MaDee Project is a non-profit foundation that provides support to pediatric cancer patients and their families in the Augusta County areas and surrounding counties. The project also strives to provide funding for innovative research that assists in finding the cause and prevention of pediatric cancers from reaching any other children. MaDee’s determination, love for her family and friends, as well as her strong spirit while battling this disease, became the inspiration of this project. If MaDee were physically here with us today, we feel confident, she would still be holding children under her wing, teaching, guiding and comforting them, especially those diagnosed with cancer. This project is our way of showing Virginia and the community, MaDee’s legacy continues. She lives on, providing the children and their family with the much needed support and the hope to get through this difficult time. Learn more about MaDee’s story in her book, Dancing in the Rain. For more information about the Madee Project visit our website.
How the Event Works
This year we will be featuring 6 craft breweries on the Valley’s very own Shenandoah BeerWerks Trial.
The trucks will be sectioned off into three zones with six trucks in each. Each zone crowns a winner for the chance to compete in front of a panel judges, which is comprised of three local chefs from different parts of Virginia. “We’re making it a little more fun and more of a battle,” Metje said. There will be craft breweries from across the state also competing in the battle of their own. The battle is set for Sunday, Sept. 3rd, during Labor Day weekend. Children’s activities, specialty vendors, and 4 bands ALL DAY!
